With The Economy So Bad, How Many People Have Given Up?
Marketing Guru Dan Kennedy was in the Philadelphia area last week and said that much of the problem with the recession is that people have stopped selling because they THINK that people have stopped buying.
I thought of this when we went out for dinner to celebrate my birthday.
One restaurant that I frequent with my buddy, Larry, complains that no one is eating out any more, marketing doesn't work, and he's doomed in this economy.
Of course every suggestion I have for him is met with a defeatist's attitude, becoming self-fulfilling.
However, within 1/2 mile on the same road on the same SIDE of the road is where Pam, Liz, Chris, and I had dinner on Saturday.
The place we hopping at 7:30 on a Saturday night... or should I say STOMPING.
Three high school girls were doing Irish dances in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day.
The bar was crowded. The large dining area was crowded. There were even people downstairs at the pool tables.
The Dream is alive and well in this restaurant but completely gone in the other one.
Smart entrepreneurs are successful entrepreneurs. But those who have given up wallow in their own attitudes.
